Artist Statement
I’d characterize all of my images as deep and very meaningful. The pictures I take always mean more than it may appear. Whether it’s a simple portrait or picture of an object, the picture itself tells a story. A particular photographer I believe is very influential is a guy name Manny Ortiz. Manny is a freelance photographer based in Chicago where he shoots tones of models and regular everyday people. Manny Ortiz is influential to me because he is a self-taught photographer that is now well known in the world/industry. Ortiz doesn’t just take pictures; he captures moments that last a lifetime. While being one of the best freelance photographers out there he also teaches those who want to learn the everyday ropes of how to become a better photographer! One thing that stood out to me during this semester which I’ll take away for the rest of my life is how lighting works and the various ways you can use them to improve or give your image a more dramatic look.
